10 Recipes {Found on Pinterest} That I Now Cook Regularly

It’s no secret that I love/hate Pinterest. Right? One of my favorite things to do is find new recipes on there. It seems like lately, I’ve had a string of bad luck with the recipes where my family hasn’t really been a huge fan of whatever new thing I’ve tried. So, I thought I’d share 10 recipes that I found, cooked, and most of us loved (you can’t please everyone) and that I have cooked at least twice.

10 Recipes I Love

So, if it made this list, then you know that I’ve eaten it a couple of times, it’s yummy, and it’s something that I will continue to rotate in my family’s nightly meals. I’ll leave a little blurb above the recipe I’m referring to and the source below it. Enjoy!

*********

This one was a little time intensive and had a lot of steps. I was frustrated with that, but when we tasted it? It was SOO good, I think I will definitely keep it around.

Pineapple Cashew Fried Rice from How Sweet It Is

I’ve made this one too many times to count. It turns out perfect every time and is the perfect side dish!

29bef9a2daf9711f8e9221840a4e51b8

Cheesy Broccoli Quinoa from Closet Cooking

These sugar cookies are to DIE for. I love the frosting more than the cookies, but both are fabulous. If you already have a sugar cookie you love, try using her recipe for the frosting at least.

5a8bde1f5fbb6e711283bc0e8f514e91Swig Sugar Cookies @ Vintage Revivals

This one I just made recently. It was good, but the biggest reason why it made the list is because it was quick and easy!

78f815101ff9bf14a7a3b0443239d97b

Simple Sesame Noodles from Nest Full of New

I’ve never done a one pot pasta, and we all LOVED it. Also super easy and quick to prepare.

aa0722966f02d30aef7e01c5e9c9157bOne Pot Wonder Tomato Basil Pasta from Apron Strings Blog

I didn’t care that my kids weren’t big fans of this one….I loved it enough for all of us!

152ae58764a04a9d9fc01d90d5949b2b

Spicy Roasted Vegetable Mac and Cheese from The Comfort of Cooking

I’ve made this soup too many times to count. I used to work at Olive Garden, and to me, it tastes pretty dang close to theirs. We make it all. the. time. Kids love it too!

unnamedCrockpot Zuppa Toscana (Olive Garden Copycat Recipe) from Key Ingredient

I love avocados, and this one is SO good.

smashed-chickpea-avocado-salad-sandwich2Smashed Chickpea & Avocado Salad from Two Peas and Their Pod

If you like Indian, you have to try this soup. SO yummy, and it got lost in my recipes, so this one is going on the list to make this week again probably.

tumblr_ly1bs2gufX1qba3etRed Lentil Coconut Soup from Scaling Back

And, if you bake bread (I don’t, but my husband does) and are looking for a good, simple, whole-wheat one, this one is it!! My husband has been making it so often that I’ve stopped buying bread. And, it’s a whole-wheat that my kids actually prefer over white bread. Simple ingredients and only  6 of them.

BreadExper-0293Skip’s Basic Bread from Word of Wisdom Living

Let me know if you try one and love it! I’m sure you can’t go wrong with any of these.

Happy SITS day, it’s great to meet you! Love that you put this together. I am a huge Pinterest fan (just started following you) but always wonder if someone liked a recipe enough to make it more than once. I will be pinning some of these and giving them a try because I know they were good enough to eat twice. 🙂

Thank you for stopping by! 🙂 They are all really good, so hopefully you won’t be disappointed. I have to do more of these round up posts because I cook so many that aren’t good. Which I would like to do a post of those, but am worried of offending the other bloggers. But, there are some that are definite fails on my “recipes to try” board. 🙂

These all look delicious, but the two recipes I am dying to try most would have to be the sugar cookies and the avocado chickpea salad. You can never go wrong with avocados on anything and I don’t think anyone could ever turn down a sugar cookie! You really can find anything on Pinterest!

Sure, you can commiserate with a fellow parent about teenagers being the worst.

I want to have a makeup free, messy bun in my sweats run in with a mom friend and not feel worried she’s checking out my un-groomed eyebrows.

I don’t want to try to give off this illusion that I’m control of my life any better than the next person. It’s a shitshow for all of us, and we continue to hide it for fear of what? Being human?"

WHAT IF THIS IS THE HAPPIEST I’LL EVER BE AND I WHAT IF THIS IS THE HAPPIEST I’LL EVER BE AND I MISS IT? What if I miss the best time of my life. What if it’s right this second?
What if it’s right now while I’m in finals week of grad school, and have a kid that’s sick?
I already miss so much. The gummy smiles of babes without any teeth. The squeaky voices of 2 year olds. The babbling of a baby that’s just trying so hard to say mama. The grammar mistakes my kids make when they’re talking that I don’t have the heart to correct because I love it too much.

I miss a lot about those younger years that have already slipped away. My youngest is sick, much like in this picture, but he is too big to snuggle in my arms now when he’s running a fever.

Today I had the thought, what if this is it? What if this IS the happiest I’ll ever be?
For a moment, I lingered in that thought as I stood over my sink and did the dishes. I started to cry.
Am I missing it? AM I? I felt a tug that maybe I was. Maybe I wasn’t relishing enough, and enjoying enough, and being present enough.
But, then I realized, it will never be ENOUGH.
