So, I never have been a big fan of poetry, although I loved English classes in school. But, that’s because I loved reading! And, of course, I loved writing. In fact, when we had to study some sort of poetry I would often dread the task. Sorry to all you poetry lovers out there!
So, it came as quite a surprise to me when I wrote a poem about motherhood in honor of Mother’s Day over at Off Duty Mom. While I don’t claim to have any expertise in the area of poetry, it was pretty fun to write. Check out my poetry skills here (which I wouldn’t call “skills” so much as rants).
Hope you enjoy Mother’s Day this weekend and milk it for all it’s worth!!
Hey, that wasn’t terrible!
It wasn’t terrible. No. But, it wasn’t good either. Maybe I need to write more poetry? Nah. I hate it too much.
No, we should leave the poetry to the poets I think. They probably become offended when folks like you and me post poems.
Yes, I agree!
Look at this badge or whatever they’re called over here!!——————————–>
Mormon mommy? That’s a thing? Can I find other delightful Mormon moms to stalk if I go there or will I just be trespassing?
Yes, you can find other mormon moms, but they won’t be as delightful as me. I promise.
I assume you’re one of the few I could tolerate, or who would even pretend to tolerate me. Lol.
for sure!!
I can’t stand poetry. (Don’t tell the people that I follow that do that.) I usually give people the benefit of the doubt, but if they are overwhelmingly good or super funny, my eyes gloss over and my sighs become heavy much like when I am at a meeting. I will check yours out though.
I won’t tell. I really hate poetry too, but I wouldn’t call what I wrote “poetry” but more of a rhyming as best as I could….
I’m thinking if poetry could tell a story that wasn’t so obtuse then maybe…
Well done!
