I have been trying to exercise again. I have always been good at exercising, and then I get bad. And, then it’s really bad. Like, I never want to do it. Ever.
But, this past two weeks, I’ve been trying to just find ways to be more active. It’s a small step, but the point is, it’s a step. I have a good amount of baby weight to lose. Yet, I’m just so bad when I get lazy. I don’t feel like eating right, and therefore, I don’t feel like exercising. It’s a vicious cycle.
But, I’ve been doing good lately. And, so when my husband suggested we take the kids on a little hike, I was all over it. It was the perfect Saturday activity on a perfectly sunny day. The forecast says maybe snow tomorrow? I sure hope not.
So, we picked Ensign Peak. It is a short (although steep) hike that is manageable for the kids. It’s the place where the first pioneers to enter Salt Lake Valley planned the city. They hiked to this very peak and decided what would go where. Starting with the Temple and moving out from there. If you’ve never been to Salt Lake City, it truly is a beautiful place. You should come.
And, I’m so proud of Kyle for making it up all by himself. We remembered that we took Avery on this same hike when she was almost exactly the same age as Kyle. She did great. And, so did he. I had to take a picture of just him since he did so good. Way to go Kyle! It’s about a mile round trip, which is a lot for little 4 year old legs.
Hope you’re having a great Saturday too!
As I was scrolling down I was thinking you need to post pics of you with the kids and then there it was. Really great pic! Looks like you had fun! 🙂
Beautiful pictures! And I see a good bit of you in your kids, too!
WOW Stunning pictures! The children love this kind of thing and we don’t do enough walks, you’ve inspired me to take them up to Roque Nublo, one of the highest peaks in Gran Canaria – brill! 🙂
Yes. My kids love being outdoors too. What kid doesn’t.
