My sweet boy, Kyle turned 4 yesterday. I was thinking about his birth. His was the easiest out of all 3 of my kids. He came at the perfect time of day (around 9pm) and he was a week early (thank you). But, life since he came has never been the same since. I joke that he is our child that can make you so happy you can’t stand it, or can make you want to cry and curl up in a fetal position. He is so like me. I love it, but I hate it, too. He’s pretty much all boy. And, he is my best little snuggler, by far. As much as his non-stop noise and talking drives me crazy, life seems so quiet when he isn’t around. I just love this little man to pieces. He is the family comedian and he knows it. He has turned our world upside down in the past 4 years in mostly a good way. I just love this kid like I can’t put into words. He is so sweet, and sensitive, and so good at sharing. Just a quick story. The other night, he asked Avery if he could sleep with one of her stuffed animals. She said ok reluctantly. Then, right as they were going to bed, she started to get really upset and wanted it back. My husband said no to her and explained it wasn’t fair to say yes, and then take it back. She was throwing her typical, I’m so tired I’m going to act like I’m two years old and scream and throw a temper tantrum like you’ve never seen before bedtime self. Kyle was sitting quietly through this whole fit. Then, when things quieted down, he quietly whispered to my husband, “Daddy, it’s OK. I want Avery to have this” and handed him the stuffed animal. Moments like that are what make you love this kid more than life.

We had a crazy fun birthday party for him yesterday too. It was his first “friends” party. Sorry kid. But, until now, he didn’t have enough friends to really make up a full-blown party. So, now he does. Congrats kiddo. This meant that there was no way I was having people over to my house because that just makes me too crazy and stressed out. I have a hard time handling people coming into my house that have never been here before. I feel the need to clean every room and organize everything to keep up the “perfection project” I seem to constantly be putting myself in. But, that’s for another post. But, the flip side is that I have to deal with my germaphobia and take him to a place like we went where I’m sure hand, foot and mouth disease runs rampant. So, we had it at this indoor amusement park place which is great when you have a birthday in January and there is still a foot of snow in your yard. It was so fun. He asked for a Batman cake. And, I delivered. 🙂 Well, Schmidt’s Bakery did, but I ordered it. Does that count for something? Here are a few of the highlights from the party. Enjoy!

Hitting the pinata. This thing was a joke. The guy finally had to rip it open with his hands and had a hard time doing that even!
I just love this little guy and can’t believe he is 4! Another year and he will be 5! I can’t take it. Happy Birthday Sweet Kyle. I love you!
