I love bath time at my house. Well, don’t get me wrong, I kind of hate bathing my kids every night, but they love baths, so it is a happy time in our house. And, I probably should no longer be bathing Avery with the boys….but ya know, it’s just easier. She does take showers occasionally, but they are rare. So, usually, it is a bath full of splashing and giggles every night. Sometimes there are meltdowns if it is really late, but for the most part, they are happy. And, I just love a clean kid.
I’ve noticed a trend in our house. Apparently bath time is also a really good time for jokes. Here are some conversations that went down last night in the bathtub.
A: Who says brrrrr? (While making it sound kind if like baaaa)
K: Who?
A: A sheep with no fur
She says she made that one up herself. Pretty clever. Although, I’m not convinced it’s true.
Kyle: Knock knock
Avery: Who’s there
Kyle: Booooo hoooo
Avery: Booooooo hooooo who?
Kyle: A secret owl
And, then the conversation continued:
“They’re real you know” says Kyle. “Have you seen a picture of one?” says Avery.
“Yeah” he responds. “Have you seen one in real life?” she says. “Yep” he replies confidently. “Have you seen one flying?” she asks again totally buying it. Long pause. “Yep” he says again.
I wonder to myself, what exactly is a secret owl?
They move on:
A: Knock knock
K: Who’s there?
A: Cindy
K: Cindy who?
A: Cinderella
A: Knock knock
K: Who’s there?
A: Tooth
Giggling hysterically, they couldn’t make it through the rest of the joke. I’m dying to know what the punch line to this one was.
K: Knock knock
A: Who’s there
K: Sitting on the toilet
A: Sitting on the toilet who?
Laughing hysterically now. Yep, it’s definitely time for bed. When the potty jokes start, there is no more creativity happening. Why is it with kids that the jokes inevitably lead to pee and poo. Every. Single. Time.
And, I made a mental note after writing this post to take a picture of my 3 munchkins in the bath together. Because I don’t have one.
And, this morning, I just love how Kyle was running around saying, “Rock and roll is my favorite song!”
LOVE THIS POST. Reminded me of my two belly laughing about farting cows recently. I don’t know where kids come up with the stuff sometimes. How I wish my imagination still worked that well. 😉
It’s true! Everything does lead to pee and poo!! My day started this morning with fart jokes!! Funny:)
