Confession time: I’ve been tempted to say out lo

Confession time: I’ve been tempted to say out loud a few times this week, “This is so exhausting.”

“This” being the reading and learning and talking and speaking out about racism and moderating comments and losing followers. .
Y’all this tired is nothing. It’s not about us. I am writing this post as much for me as for anyone that wants to be an ally right now for our friends that are POC. Because I have had this thought more than once this week. I’m embarrassed to admit that. .
It’s work. But we don’t know tired. Not on this issue. We don’t get to say that. Not anytime soon either.

Can you imagine what our brothers and sisters that have been fighting this fight for hundreds of years feel? Yeah that’s bone tired. We’re like in the stage of tired where you accidentally wake up five minutes before your alarm goes off. It’s not even a thing.

So for all my white mama friends that want to do the work - let’s not talk about being tired yet. Yes take the time to recenter yourselves when you need it but we have a lot more work to do. .
We don’t know tired about this fight. Not even close. #blacklivesmatter
