This one dish pork chops and creamy wild rice recipe is so easy your kids could make it. No, seriously.
This is a recipe that we ate it all the time growing up, and naturally, when I had to start feeding my own family, I started making it too.
It’s one of those meals that everyone in the family will actually eat. Even the two year old who is so notorious for never eating that I wrote a song about it.
This is a dish that you make all in one pan, takes about 5 minutes to prep, and a little over an hour to cook. So it’s easy for last minute too.

What are the health benefits of wild rice?
Wild rice is a good source of essential nutrients, including vitamins and minerals. It is particularly rich in B vitamins (such as B1, B2, B3, and B6). Wild rice is also high in dietary fiber, which is beneficial for digestive health. Did you know too that wild rice is naturally gluten free? I had no idea. Now, don’t count on it for this recipe, and always look out for cross contamination (especially if using the boxed version).
You can also substitute the white rice for brown rice in this recipe, but I’ve tried it a few times and haven’t perfected it yet.
I think it’s just because the brown rice needs longer to cook than the wild rice and the pork chops will get tough if you cook the whole thing that much longer. So add a little bit extra water, and maybe consider adding the pork chops on midway through? Let me know if you try that and get your brown rice cooked as well as the rest of the meal. I’d seriously love to know.
But, if you’re ready to cook the regular version of this mean, let’s Get Started!

Hi Meredith, your recipe looks wonderful, I love doing chops in a soup like that, they turn out so tender.
I am also stopping by from International Bloggers Association (IBA) to introduce myself and say welcome. Im looking forward to this new association. Now following you on all Social media. Hope you can stop by to say Hi soon.
Take care Karren
Thanks Karren! I look forward to connecting more. 🙂
How could I have forgotten this recipe? We had it a lot when I was growing up! Thanks for the reminder Meredith. I get so tired of making the same stuff day in and day out.
Me too! I make this a LOT, so it was a no-brainer to share. 🙂
I’m going to try this recipe tonight. I’m using a wild rice concoction instead of Uncle Ben’s though. So here’s crossing my fingers that it still turns out.
Oh I hope it does!! Good luck! 🙂
I am making it tonight but using Rice a Roni for my rice. Right now it smells so good in my house 😋
This looks DELISH, Meredith! I am a huge fan of one dish meals…SO much easier to prep and clean up! 🙂
Thanks Kristi! I’m honored you stopped by!! 🙂
what size can of cream of mushroom soup?
Hi aimee! I always use Campbell’s 10 3/4 oz. Cans.
Hi – do you use a box of Uncle Bens Wild Rice mix with Long Grain (Long Grain and Wild Rice) or is the Wild Rice just wild rice? Thank you!
Yes the original Uncle Bens
I made tonight but used Rice A Roni and cream of chicken since that is what I had on hamd. Turned out delicious 😋
